Michael Dawson – Dean
Michael grew up in the rolling hills of Zanesville, Ohio, where he attended the North Terrace Church of Christ. At the age of 14 Michael was baptized into Christ. From early in his life he felt the call of God for him to go into ministry and answered that call and enrolled at Mid-Atlantic Christian University in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Michael graduated from MACU in 2007 with a B.S. in Bible and Theology with minors in Preaching and Counseling. While at MACU he met Crystal Williams whom he made his partner in life and ministry in 2007. Michael and Crystal have three kids you will se running around camp, Alivia, Evelyn and Cole. Michael serves as the Senior Minster of the West Side Church of Christ in Lebanon, Ohio. Before serving at West Side Michael served as a youth minister in Creswell, NC and Chesapeake, VA. Michael began serving West Side in August 2009 as the Associate Minister transiting into the role of Senior Minister. That transition became compete on January 1, 2014.
Michael began his Christian camp experience attending Round Lake Christian Camp in Lakeville, Ohio. While ministering in North Carolina, Michael served one year at Roanoke Christian Service Camp in Washington, Nc. Since the summer of 2010 Michael has served the Adventure 456 weeks of camp. This coming summer will be Michael's second year as dean of Adventure 456.
Michael is an avid football fan and even admits that he is a supporter of the Cleveland Browns. He can often be heard telling people he “bleeds scarlet and grey” due to his deep love for the Ohio State Buckeyes football program.
